Happy new year … we hope you had a great start to the year and are feeling the vibes.
We were thinking what to write about for the first issue of the year and, well, we didn’t do a predictions write-up yet so it seemed appropriate to look into the crystal ball.
Let’s dive in …
1) People will start to understand that the current financial system has holes, big ones, and that stablecoins goes beyond being a mere ‘money’ instrument for the new age.
2) We will see countries look to add digital and crypto-assets to their reserves and work closely with central and commercial banks to manage wCBDCs/rCBDCs solutions.
3) Freelancers, creators, remote workers and the gig economy will be the largest group of society pushing for stablecoin salaries and payouts from their employers.
4) Developing nations will choose to work with top blockchain/DLT providers that have existing banking, enterprise and institutional expertise for stablecoin settlements.
5) Mid-market companies in ultra-competitive industries like e-commerce, travel, fintech and banking will push to accept stablecoins to distinguish themselves.
6) Stablecoin staking will be a whole category of it’s own with a scramble for the best stablecoin lending rates, collateral allowance and cross-chain interoperability.
7) Market leaders and legacy organisations will look to issue their own stablecoins, making a number of existing issuers and DeFi platforms work more to get users.
8) This will push management to spend more on consultanting firms and cybersecurity experts to enable secure and user-friendly enterprise issuance solutions and transfers.
9) TradFi and DeFi lenders will offer mroe lucrative stablecoin lending rates and run larger ad campaigns for stablecoin business and personal loans.
10) Honourable mentions: stablecoin staking, stablecoin financing, on-chain wealth management, charity funding, insurance for digital protection and much more.

By this time next year, most of these will be in play.
